What cleaning actually does
Trim whitespace
Removes leading and trailing spaces from every cell.
Remove blank rows
Drops rows that are entirely empty.
Remove duplicate rows
Keeps only the first occurrence.
Standardise column headers
Converts them to lowercase, with spaces replaced by underscores.
Title Case text columns
Applies Title Case to text values.
Flag invalid emails
Adds a _valid column next to any email column; it doesn't delete rows, just flags them.
Flag malformed phone numbers
Adds a _valid column next to any phone column.
Normalise dates to YYYY-MM-DD
A best-effort parse of columns with 'date' in the name.
